At the Stand And Face East Foundation (“S.A.F.E. Foundation”), we believe that accountability is the cornerstone of faithful stewardship. We hold radical openness as a sacred trust—recognizing that every gift entrusted to us belongs not to us, but to those we serve. We openly declare our current unregistered status under Canadian law and the Canadian Income Tax Act. Despite this, we commit to the highest standards of transparency. Every donation received and every expense incurred is recorded and published as soon as logistically possible. And we are working to become a registered charity under the law ASAP.
Financial Accountability
All financial activities are governed by clear procedures outlined here and in our Non‑Profit Disclosure Statement. These include protocols for managing and reporting funds, as well as restrictions on overhead, as set forth in the Sophikon Revenue Policy—which strictly limits the percentage of income used for administrative costs.
Our Financial Reports, published quarterly and annually, will provide a detailed, line‑by‑line breakdown of:
– Program expenditures
– Project grants
– Philanthropic disbursements
– Modest and capped operational costs (examples: web hosting, domain registration, advertising campaigns) payed for with funds collected from explicity stated operational cost fundraisers only or from explicitly stated funds collected from a percentage of merchandise sales and NEVER from funds collected via our general donations or fundraisers.
– These reports are prepared by and/or signed off by the Treasurer in accordance with sound and recognized accounting principles. Each fiscal year after legal incorporation, an independent financial review will be conducted by a qualified professional to verify the accuracy and integrity of our statements.
Public Access and Oversight:
Supporters, donors, volunteers, and the general public—including members of the S.A.F.E. Foundation Philanthropia Society—are granted full access to these financial records through our official website. This openness is not merely a policy; it is a principle. By inviting public scrutiny, we ensure that our operations remain accountable, our stewardship faithful, and our mission visibly anchored in truth.
In all things, our aim is this: to ensure that trust in our work is built not on vague promises, but on complete openness and verifiable data.
TLDR:
S.A.F.E. Foundation publishes every donation and expense. Financial reports are quarterly and annual, and annualy reviewed independently upon legal incorporation, and always available online. Admin costs are minimal and capped, and are currently provided by personal donations from board members. Radical transparency is a permanent commitment.
Our first quarterly finacial report can be expected by or before August of 2025
